Alright, so its like this. I've been a Cardinals fan my entire life (well, since I've been old enough to care...around 20 years.)

I have admittedly enjoyed reading through this forum for the sake of schadenfreude, but as I have done that...I've come to notice that there are some decent baseball discussions happening here that I'd like to be involved in. I have a Cardinals board that I've belonged to for a long time, and I will continue to be...but I find it fun to interact with other passionate fan bases.

Here are some important things to know about me, you guys tell me if I need to get lost right away or if you'd let me stick around for a bit and have me "audition:"

I'm in Central IL (Grew up in Springfield)

I go to around 4 professional games per year

I've been to Wrigley 5 or 6 times

I simply can't be a fan of Chicago sports for political reasons :)

I'm a Christian, husband, and father of 4 small kids

I play in multiple fantasy leagues per year

I'm an Illini sports fan

So given that selective bio, am I welcome here...or ought I just leave now?

But seriously, welcome to the forum. We like having logical fans of other teams share in the discussions. Few have stuck around, and those are the ones that are the most fun to talk to. Many have come and gone, though, mostly because they didn't like that we would disagree with their opinions. Shocker, not aligning with another team's fans opinion, right?

That Mets fan from last season is a good example of that.

Jake is an example of a good rival fan who posts here once in a while. He's a Pirates fan, and is very much appreciated here.

Jake is cool but I think NonProfitCow is the most assimilated non Cubs fan here by far. Especially since he's a Cards fan.

We've had fans of other teams do very well here in the past, and some not so much. The way you interact will depend on how well (and how long) your stay here will be.

If you join the discussions and keep the gloating and boasting and trolling to yourself, you are welcome.

If you decide to goad Cub fans into pointless discussions, gloat in the game threads, post threads simply to brag about your team or insult ours, your stay may not go very well.

It really depends on your intentions and posting habits.

That being said, welcome.

Do you have any dead family members I could have a picture of

Everyone on the board provides these; it's a board tradition.

You seem like you have good intentions, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I understand we're the rival fanbase, but there is absolutely no reason Cardinal fans should need to gain any pleasure from the misery of Cubs fans. That basically just makes you a huge jerk.
