Fellas, I haven't been able to watch very many games due to work, and the pitching all around has sure looked pretty poopy most of the times I have watched; please do me a solid and tell me some soothing things to make me feel better.

Not poopy

Huh. So the bullpen woes everyone keeps complaining about are mostly just a heaping helping of BABIP variance?

All of our pitchers have been BABIPed to death so far. I've never seen so many seeing eye ground balls in my life. The Arrietta start against the Reds may have been the worst.

maybe maddon's positioning just [expletive] sucks

If this season is different, these guys will come back and win this game. That's small sample size nonsense but [expletive] it, we really need this one

No, they don't.

Not in a down 3-0 sort of way, but if these idiots get 10 games up or some [expletive] we're going to be playing to get into a coin flip game and frankly I'm not thrilled at the prospect.

Early indications show that Javy Baez might not be dead.

What the hell ever. Someday very soon we'll be better than them.

having a better team has never been/will never be enough

Wasn't our best season record against them in the last decade or so with that horrible 2006 team?

Bryant has a 22% walk rate.

I guess that's what I still have trouble wrapping my head around; at what point does it go from "man, they're just REALLY unlucky" to "man, they're just giving up too many hits?"

[expletive], Bryant just wants to live on base.

Who cares? Yes I'd prefer to win the division but all I care about is making it however we can after watching 90+ loss teams for the last half decade

So you're saying our bullpen isnt a problem, and isnt awful right now? Ok.

our bullpen is pretty bad in general usually strop is lights out, return to the mean. but middle relief is just horrid. unless our SP cant go 7 every night we are in trouble.

on the bright side, bryant is drawing walks like bonds. now we just need him to dong like bonds

Perhaps if he ever gets a good pitch to hit

I get not being happy with the fatalism around here, but it's pretty freaking easy when you take into account the conglomeration of everything leading up to tonight and then what happened tonight. Hopefully, this is one of those random threads we pull up in the future (hopefully later this year) and laugh at, but if this game doesn't hit you in the gut pretty hard then you're a better person than me.

3-0 pitch a solid foot off the plate, but when you set up 3 feet outside I guess it looks good
