it's like the thing when i was bitching about everybody in chicago sports media for some reason thinking the sox were a good team and would contend for the division and the cubs still were a year away because they had to learn to win or something despite all projections i had seen saying the cubs were significantly better

 

it's why i was so happy when i read the rany jazayerli piece in the spring...like holy [expletive] someone actually acknowledged what's going on

 

i'm not trying to make any early declarations here but obviously this team looks really good in a lot of important ways right now

 

not to steal theo's phrase but this [expletive] isn't linear
