i can't remember the last prospect i felt more relaxed about than bryant. like, never having any doubt that, assuming health, he would at least end up good, and very well could be great. i guess prior was the last one.

After this game I played the Pirates in MLB The Show. I was down 11-5 going into the 9th inning and scored 8 in the bottom of the 9th to win 13-11.

I was a little worried about the strikeouts, but he just looks/acts so calm and collected up there, like he's been up forever. It's like he just had to get that first game done and then his system rebooted and he downloaded the right drivers and everything works fine now.

It's kind of freaking me out that Rizzo and Bryant seem to have basically just decided they aren't going to strike out any more.

let's make sure we let sontensei create a new thread every day because maybe that's been the secret all along

Being that I also follow the Royals really close this has been unreal. Tonight was a microcosm.

Maybe it is just his natural facial expression, but there have been a few at bats (in big situations where I am really nervous) where when they show the close up of him from the side as he digs in, he has a small smile on his face... Like he is just enjoying the moment, and I immediately calm down. So different than the first day where it seemed like he was pressing.

All four of Rizzo, Soler, Bryant and even Castro seem to have that going; Castro's weird little sequence right before he had the big hit at the end cracked me up because of how loose he seemed. Soler starts his AB with a look like he's in a trance and his only focus is widowing baseballs.

we have this for like the next decade and they should even get better and they won't break because they're not [expletive] pitchers this is so amazing

and yeah castro's eye thing was hilarious

The thing that is so calming about Bryant to me is his approach and how hard he hits the ball... All the time. He looks so effortless.

We have it for 5-6 more years, and primes are ending earlier than ever right now.
