I'm just trollingemploying hilarious satire.

Real talk though: Our pitching is scary and iffy and we haven't done anything yet but be 2 games over .500. We can enjoy Addison Russell Day without throwing down handies for our GM Team President.

The last three years weren't painful at all for me. I did a lot of golfing. Might have to put the golf clubs away this summer.

Would never recommend that, but I too am undergoing a readjustment period to factor in all the time it takes to watch baseball again.

Having MLBtv and the At Bat app is crucial, as is ignoring your SO's complaints when you use any free moment to check in on the game.

I really hate the whole not being able to watch half of the damn games [expletive].

Ew, I didn't realize the Des Moines station hadn't picked up the whole slate of games...just some.

I couldn't get DM stations anyway. I've tried 3 different OTA antennas with no luck to get the KCRG crap.

I just want to take a minute, amid all this excitement about the young players being called up, to point out that there is still time to sign up to start a game thread.

..... or how 'bout this lineup from 21 April 1965 ??

Beckert, 2b

Pena, Ss

Williams, cf

Santo, 3b

Altman, lf

Banks, 1b

Clemens, rf

Bertel, c

L. Jackson, p

Just in case you were wondering..... the CUBS managed all of 4 hits that day, including one by their pitcher, and a 2 run HR from Santo which accounted for all the CUBS runs in a 9-2 loss to Cincinnati at Wrigley.

Fred, can you confirm the Cubs are undefeated when they call up two top 5 prospects within a week?

Go Cubs!

Well..... has anybody beat 'em since they called up Addison Russell ???

so the guy who's drawn Barry Larkin comparisons is probably our 9th place hitter right now

the 9th spot in the order has hit .190/.261/.190 (.451 OPS)...for comparison, the 8th spot has hit for a .447 OPS

I can confirm that the CUBS are 6-2 (0.750) vs. Pittsburgh on 21 April on the road ........

How can somebody look at this lineup, compare it to the current norm in MLB and not think this is a serious world series contender. That's just so much impact talent. omg
