I'm sure it's been talked about in here already, but goodness, Joe West's strike zone tonight.

Early (Soler's first AB) and often (pretty much every batter since then)

I don't get what Maddon sees in him....didn't he also have an awful spring? Literally every single time Maddon has seen him, he has an awful result, yet he keeps coming back out there in games we are winning, and keeps blowing them.

He picked him over Jackson and Germen. I get why, but after today he'll need to prove he can actually generate the ground balls that he was brought into those situations to generate. Germen and Jackson aren't terrific options but they need a chance after this display.

Average Leverage Index when entering a game (before tonight):

Schlitter 1.01 (3rd on team)

Ramirez 0.50

Strop 0.66

Maybe continually trotting out Schlitter is Maddon's passive-aggressive way of telling Theo that they need bullpen help. I'm out of reasons why he'd keep doing this.

After today he'll need to find his own way to Iowa

that's not hyperbole that's really what needs to happen

Every team seems to have that annoying reliever who always blows leads but keeps getting to pitch in close games for no reason.

I don't particularly care what happens to Schlitter, but I don't really see any appealing options there. Rivero has been bad and isn't on the 40 man, Parker's hurt, Edwards has been not good at AA, and Jokisch and Ortiz probably aren't great ideas as LHP(neither has done much at AAA either)
