the baserunning and defense will get worse, so hopefully he makes a little more contact. He probably is who he will be for the most part.

He will run and field that way well into his 50s.

 

we'll need to field a replacement by 2045 or so, i thought this front office was supposed to be forward-thinking????

 

His good season at age 47 will cost the Cubs the chance to draft Kris Bryant Jr.

checking the final numbers for the year and I see KB had 5.4 oWAR to Rizzo's 5.2.

 

I have a decent understanding of WAR, but can't figure out how Rizzo didn't have a higher WAR. .

Bryant finishes the year at 3 DRS and 3.6 UZR at third base -- solidly above league average in both metrics. Pretty impressive for a guy that had his glove questioned a lot before the season.

makes a lot of sense. one of the most popular teams having a sudden resurgence and it's the one jersey lots of people would want that (for the most part) they didn't have for sure.

What's more aggravating are the LSU morons down here that wear Theriot Cubs jerseys because he played there, yet they could not care less about the Cubs. I have a special hate for these people.

my family of 4 owns 5 Bryant Jerseys (I have a road alt, wife has a road alt, son has all 3) and 3 Shirseys. My 8 year old daughter wants a shirt with his "cute" face on it.

 

We have bryant fever. . . . .sad, really.
