it seems totally reasonable that he might play the first game and then get a call from theo before the second.

It should fit. They saved somewhere around 7-15 million by keeping him in the minors for these first several games.

Interesting. I figured he'd take Ramirez's place to make it look less like a service time thing, since they could have put Olt on the DL a few days ago. Whatever, though. This rules.

Apparently the initial x-ray missed the fracture?

 

Tough break for Olt, no pun intended. He had to know he had a very short window to prove himself worthy of sticking with the team and his opportunity was ended early.

 

That definitely isn't the story here though, I can't wait for tomorrow!
