Did he really explain Cutler starting by saying "Jay gives us the best chance to win on Sunday"?

who the hell cares if we win on sunday. its not going to make a difference in your evaluation, it will only hurt the bears moving forward, and not giving your younger players a chance to play in a lost season hurts the future. I wouldn't be saying this if Trestman didn't already make the stupid decision to bench Jay last week, but since he has and (in my mind) the Jay-Trestman marriage is broken beyond repair, just give Fales a freaking start.

That's your takeaway? That Fales needs a start? The guy has an upside of a potential backup. He does not need to start. This isn't September baseball. Giving him a look isn't going to help anything. The Bears have 16 games and Jay Cutler should start every one of them.

I appreciate how blunt many of our players are. It's refreshing.

I don't feel refreshed from cringing every time Marshall opens his mouth and have everybody bickering. They are only blunt because the season has gone to hell and the coach is a lame duck. I would prefer boring robots that win more games.

I'd much rather Jay sit and preserve his health for next season, when the game just might matter again.

Marshall isn't bickering at all. He answers questions in a relatively straight fwd fashion. Its entertaining, which is more than I can say for most of the useless drivel we hear from these guys. I'd also rather they win games and say nothing, but since that isn't an option, at least this is interesting.

Have you chosen to block out most of what Marshall has said this year? The lame lockeroom blowup, the disastrous press conference, just about everything else?

Like Brad Biggs said this morning, did you see anything in the preseason that made you say "Oh, I'd like to see more of that!" ?

The guy spent nearly the entire season running pre-scripted plays of other teams offenses on the practice squad. Fales will get his opportunities to show what he can do in the preseason.

Hm good point. If we put him in and he started running other teams plays we might accidentally win :)

Yea read that article a few weeks ago. As with Head Coach the idea of an experienced hire is appealing to me. Gamble seems the best of first timers- still very experienced even though he hasn't been GM yet.

I still don't believe he will be anything more than what he is right now.

As someone that wants to see Cutler succeed, but the Bears lose, and Trestman fired, I'm very torn on exactly what I want to happen on Sunday.

Vikings win 45-42, Cutty with 6 TDs. Done.

Bears pin the troubles entirely on Tucker, Trestman stays. :(

Trestman is gone. Bears could win 99-0 and he would still get fired.

I'd like them to lose and Cutler stay healthy. It would be nice if he stays INT-free so I hear less jughead analysis this offseason

Agreed...just screwing around.

The Bears scoring 42 would be quite the head scratcher though....they haven't gotten more than 28 all season.

Did Kyle post that pic? There were meatballs on Twitter commenting this weekend that Long sat out Sunday because he didn't want to play without his good friend Jay.
