For some reason, the Bears open as 5 point favorites.

It's the lack of a competent QB on the other team. Any competent QB can hang 40 on these guys. The exception to that was Matt Ryan, who probably would have done the same if all his receivers weren't dropping passes. Miami had an average QB, but they also had an elite defense. Minnesota has a crappy QB situation and while their defense isn't bad, they aren't as good as Miami.

Manuel looked pretty good too though. Still a high risk they give up many scores, though if they could manage to actually all play the same coverage every play maybe they hold them to 21 and we lose 21-20.

The start of our stubborn march towards mediocrity and a ruined draft slot.

Not so fast my friend. Teddy Bridgewater is probably poised for a huge breakout game.

If AP plays the Vikings will score 30+.

I wasn't trying to say the Bears will win, just making sense of the point spread. The Bears should score and they theoretically won't get shredded by the opposing QB. And they are home.

I don't even care about the possible top three pick I just want to get to 7 or 8 losses sooner so we can just kick guys like Briggs to the curb and go all youth movement.

How can the Bears be favored against anyone right now? That seems like an attempt to scare up gambling interest in an otherwise unwatchable game. I'd take the Vikes and lay that 5 in a second. How could you not?

I'm pretty sure AP will run for 300 yards in this game. I have no doubt he will be playing.

I don't pretend like I have any idea what Vegas is thinking but I'm sure it helps that the game is in Chicago and Minesota looks pretty bad offensively.

I didn't know there was a possibility Adrian Peterson could be back.

NFLPA is pressuring Goodell to reinstate him after his plea deal.

Home team gets them 3 points, Minn. being bad gets 2. Thus Minn. getting 5. This is a sucker line and no one should even consider betting this game.

Minnesota wins this game after a few more Cutler turnovers. He looks like [expletive].

28-20 Vikings.

Oh and anyone else think that this upcoming draft is meh? No clear consensus type talent at the top of the draft

I'm going out on a limb and saying the lack of a clear-cut #1 won't affect the Bears.

That's definitely the consensus from the draft guys in the media and I agree.

Of course that'd be the year for the Bears to get a high pick

Trestman's conference has been delayed. Was supposed to start 30 minutes past the hour.
