Nothing is wrong with Dunleavy - as a 15-20 MPG role-player off the bench. He's slow, unathletic and barely passable on defense. And it's Kirk - statistically one of the least efficient players in any regular rotation this year - who's finishing games. The Bulls are generally not athletic enough as is, but when depending on those two guys for 30+ minutes it's an even bigger problem.

As for Brooks, what was glossed over in the unsustainable offensive brilliance he showed in the 4th last night is that he's a terrible defensive liability, and there's pretty much no way Thibs can use that backcourt down the stretch very often and certainly not in the postseason. I like Brooks for what he is - an offensive sparkplug who can break down defenses when Rose is on the bench. But a Rose-Brooks backcourt is not a major part of the solution.

Hinrich isn't going to be closing out as much as he is as the season goes on.

Who do you see finishing games then? Dunleavy is really the only other option and while that's better, it's not exactly going to cause panic around the league.

Mirotic will get some action at SF depending on the matchup, we'll see how that shakes out in the middle third of the season. If he can handle it, then there isn't really a playing time issue with the bigs. Dunleavy is solid and Snell can provide additional defense if that's the concern on the wing.

Butler would play 40+ in the playoffs and Rose will get his minutes up. I don't think Hinrich will get nearly as many minutes as the season goes on, and Brooks can be used in brief stints with Rose.

There's enough pieces in place at this point where you don't need to make a deal until an injury or poor performance forces your hand.

So what? We're talking the fifth man; he doesn't need to cause "panic." Just not being terrible works fine.

Dunleavy is shooting 5 threes a game at an acceptable rate and i'm fine with him just standing in the corner on offense and being 6'9 on defense for 30mpg.

I do not want Ray Allen on this team btw.

We should be able to find a guy on the street that can backup Dunleavy and spell Butler without giving up anything of real value. The bar for that is Tony Snell and a gimp McDermott.

Mirotic is already #1 among rookies in PER, and his +/- in this game is off the charts. I can't see Thibs giving him meaningful SF minutes, but they need to find a way to keep him on the floor as much as possible.

Also if anyone lives in the Chicago area and has cable, all CSN Bulls games are available on the NBC Sports Extra app. Pretty cool to be able to watch the Bulls when I'm out and about.

I kinda just want him so Cleveland doesn't get him. But yeah, not much interest in actually seeing him play.

Pau on track for 40 minutes on the second night of a back to back, and Kirk and his 0-6 and 0 points on the floor to finish. This team has issues.

You just have a horrible attitude about the Bulls, Deeg.

Its ok that they lost the second night of a back to back on the road to a decent team. They have same issue that every non-all star team has. They have to play a few guys that dont cause panic.
