After watching Doug for the last four years, it's clear that he's improved significantly on the defensive side in the just the past 5 months. he's more athletic than people gave him credit for, but he's certainly quicker than he was in college

He was also asked not to play too hard on defense in college because he they wanted him using all his energy on offense and they didn't want him getting in foul trouble.

Like Michael Wacha of basketball.

funny story, doug is a giants fan

Wacha had really mediocre stats in AAA and then pwned in the majors, allegedly because the Cardinals had him doing stuff in the minors that wasn't pitching his best.

Really impressed with the Bulls last night. I know its only the Knicks, but damn did they make it look easy. Rose and Noah only play just over 20 minutes and you are winning by 35 on the road in the 4th quarter? Awesome.

Looking forward to a nice challenge against the Cavs tomorrow. Cavs will be on a back to back and playing in Chicago, so hopefully that offsets Jimmy being out...Dunleavy did a fine job on Anthony, but I'm less confident in his ability to defend LeBron.

He likely has gotten a bit quicker but he was never as un-athletic as he was portrayed. He just kinda looked like a fat kid due to his oversized t-shirt and our brains are incapable of overcoming that bias. Even after he tested middle of the road athletically pre draft people were still acting like he was a stiff.

Yeah, he wouldn't have such a quick setup and release on his shot if he didn't have some athleticism in him. That 20 foot push shot he made last night was something.

Should we be legit concerned about our perimeter defense this year? Little to no depth behind Butler.

I would like another defensive guy back there to defend the really good PGs in the league. Butler takes the best wing on every team. Snell can help, like was stated. But I'd like a guy with some length in the backcourt. However, that would come at the extent of Dunleavy and/or probably Snell, losing an extra wing defender.

But I agree, this is a good team D. And the Bulls have always pretty much been constructed the same way without a great on the ball PG defender.

I want to see a win tonight very badly. I want to see Taj smothering Love. I want to see Gasol look very effective. I want D Rose to make a statement that he's still great. Any contributions from the new young guys would be a bonus.

This will be a playoff intensity level game with Cleveland taking a dump last night and chicagos home opener. Obviously the Cavs will improve as the season goes on but I would love to make the statement tonight that we are the better team.

This team is so deep. I don't think the Cavs are that great. I haven't been this optimistic in a team since the Jordan days. Very excited for tonight.
