I think they view him as the bridge between the manager and the minor league/player development system with all prospects that are coming up.

Completely agree. Doesn't mean it isn't at least a little bit of a buzzkill having these dipshits be the ones that the national media and opposing fans flock to when they talk about the Cubs.
