He's blanketed by one guy with two other DBs within a yard of the reciever when the ball gets there. There was absolutely no margin of error as seen in the result. It was a stupid throw.

Serious question...are you blind?

No, he's never shown actual knowledge of football. He's only good for hot sports takes.

Yeah that's a throw that every QB in the league makes. That was blatant PI and it wasn't called maybe because it hit the defender in the head. But blown call. Not a bad throw or bad decision.

That being said, it seems like the "Cutler apologists" are just as bad as the Cutler haters. Hell I'm one of the former. You can say Cutler made 1-2 bad throws/decisions but he needs to make 0. Maybe not 0. But his mistakes need to not end up in the other team's hands. He can miss low to an open man in zone. He can miss on an open deep pass. He can miss high on the sidelines. But he can't keep missing and making poor decions in the middle of the field. Those always get picked. Five of 6 INTs have been bad throws or decisions between the hashes.

I don't see how anyone can think Cutler will change his play at this point in his career.

I don't think he necessarily needs to change. He just needs to stop being so unlucky. He makes 98% good throws. But the 2% seem to come at the worst possible time. I don't know if he needs to focus more ir what, but its time to stop pretending he's not a huge factor in losing games.

And yeah UK the playcalling has been terrible the 2nd half of really the last 3 games (and the first half of the first 2 games). I feel Trestman doesn't play to win rather plays to not lose. No reason this team should have a 3 point half of football. .....yet they've had 1 in every game so far.

Also was it me or were Slauson and DelaPuente terrible yesterday? And Danny McCray is the worst player on the roster. Vereen needs to get some snaps at FS, especially if Conte is out.

The defense was terrible once Conte left the game. 100% agree about McCray. I wonder if Slauson isn't 100% yet?

The way this offense goes from clicking on all cylinders to shut down mode is inexplicable and quite disheartening. And it's not like it happens on occasion, it happens every GD game.

What I saw was the Bears finding success with Forte over and over again in the first half, then Carolina making adjustments to stop Forte from having that success, and then the Bears just throwing their hands up when the Forte gameplan stopped working.

Carolina lost one of their best defenders in the first half, and Trestman didn't seem interested in exposing that weakness at all. Every time Jeffery was fed the ball, he made things happen. I'm speechless that the Bears didn't open up the field more against this team, especially in the second half when it was clear that Carolina changed their game plan to stop Forte.

It didnt seem like they made adjustments to their offensive game plan in the second half when what they were doing in the first half wasn't working anymore. I noted in the game thread that the Bears were game planning beautifully against a heavy blitzing D going against an injured and inexperienced line. They dialed up a lot of quick passes with good blocking to allow for yards after the catch, took limited chances deep and kept moving the ball. But as the game went on, Carolina was bottling those plays up and jamming the WRs at the line and Cutler was less effective.

236 yards in the first half, 111 in the second. Of course the biggest difference was that the Bears defense was giving the offense extra possessions in the first half, while the Bears were giving it away in the second half.

Yep, 2 pro bowl WRs and the best TE in the league thru the first 4 weeks and they combined to catch fewer balls than Forte? Carolina blitzed all day too, so it was single coverage on the outside for the most part. For the first time, I'm listening to the #fireTrestman people. Not giving up on him just yet, but if the defense isn't going to be any good, and the special teams aren't going to be any good, and his only value comes on offense where the team is underachieving....then what's he doing for this team?

It's just not realistic to think about that change at this point, unless this team really tanks the rest of the season.

Well, that's true. One of the mods put that in my avatar so it's not a secret.

Although, times are a' changin'. My fiance' had a dog and we moved in together, so I have a new best friend and it's not a kitty.

Don't you think even if they tank, Trestman gets one more year to play out his style?

I do. Heck, I'll give him that. We're too far down this road to not play it out now.

Yeah, I was nervous about Ola but the interior was definitely the weakspot in the OL.

I have to imagine Conte is out some time since it's his second concussion this season (he clearly went back into the game with that concussion which is gross) and I have no desire watching McCray again.
