Emery found a diamond-in-the-rough in Trestman didn't he

When you outthink yourself in the draft that's one thing. But when you outthink yourself hiring a coach then you're just stupid.

There's a reason he was banished to Canada. Everyone knew it but Emery I guess.

anyone who actually believes marshall is healthy and himself is kidding themselves btw

he should've sat out a week a long time ago

yet Marshall (and Megatron) will continue to play hurt because the division is such a cluster-hump

Even with 2 INTs and a fumble lost (not sure if it counts towards it), Cutler still had a 95.5 QB rating. LOL

and it doesn't even give him credit for the rushing TD

Please take a moment to re-read what you just posted.

Marshall shouldn't be practicing all week if he's still hurt.

So Bears gave up on a play and it directly led to a TD and that was the difference in the game? Shocker.

And that's now happened twice in six games.

did they really give up on that play or were they all just in the pile near where the ball was and then get outrun by the opportunistic extremely fast guy?

that's a serious question, not rhetorical

Sorry I'm *starting* to turn on Trestman and I'd love for someone to change my view but what are we looking at?

10-11 record, defense and special teams have gotten significantly worse under his watch, team frequently makes idiotic mistakes that cost us close games (yes anecdotal, not based on any numbers), team has lost a game twice in the last 6 games because they gave up on a play and the other team picked up a fumble and took it in for a TD.

Oh and that awesome offense we expect from Trestman, that hides all his other warts? 20 points, 28 points (on multiple short fields), 20 points, 17 points and 24 points (on multiple short fields). They've been racking up yards but at the end of the way they aren't scoring points, and as for being a QB whisperer, his QB has shown (at least this year) to have little to no improvement over his play. Still overthrowing WRs, still making bad decisions, still throwing off his back foot, still tucking the ball and taking sacks too soon.

This is a team with considerable offensive talent and its been almost shockingly mediocre. 2 cavets: I'm not saying to fire him now, I would be happy to give him the season because 5 games is not enough and I want to believe his upside is higher than the results he's gotten, and 2) there have been some bad injuries on offense that have limited it, but all the skill guys have played every game so I'm not going to cut him too much slack.

Until further notice the biggest choker in the NFL title has been transferred from the Manning brothers to Cutler.

Ha, they have three titles and Eli played like a stud when it counted in the playoffs

Last year he was perhaps the worst QB in the league. Clutch years ago, lately however is a different story.

I don't know man, there's a certain amount of inherent stupidity in that play that I just can't accept.

But he is and he insists on doing so because he's too bad ass for his own good (and has a decent consecutive game streak) and they are handling with kid gloves and scared to upset him because he's a [expletive] lunatic.

Eli looks better this year. Still, two titles. You can't forget those. Both Mannings could be hall of famers.

Defense getting worse under his watch?

I'm not sure who is to blame for the Tucker hire, but aside from that, we were waiting on the other shoe to drop on the defense for like 5 years. They got old. As a result of that, now we're trying to put something together on the fly with FA guys and draft picks.

And the skill guys playing every game despite injuries (one guy in particular) is way more of a curse than a blessing.

Bears and Browns now have the same record, so there's that

Lovie's Bucs might have the same record too pretty soon

and umfan still thinks the bears make more mistakes than anyone even though they were one of the least penalized teams in the league last year and are pretty middle of the pack this year last i checked.

today was a nightmare but like half of those were horrendous calls. same goes for the GB game.
