So they have Allen and Houston as terrible again. Forte was the 3rd worst RB to play 10 snaps yesterday, Mills and Ola were terrible. De La Puente, Bushrod and Long were good. Cutty was average. Peanut, Conte and Ratliff were having great games before going down, McCray and Fuller stepped up to replace Peanut and Conte, the backups at DT didn't.

uuhhhh they had Houston as our second best defensive player week one

I appreciate what PFF is trying to do, but I really disagree with a lot of what I've seen so far this year from them.

jw which ones you're taking issue with

the only one that seemed off to me based on the eye test was allen but they probably know better than me

I stand corrected, I completely forgot that.

Cutler, Bennett (maybe blocking issues?), and Allen.

Had issues with last week too, but I'm not going back to look a that.

better late than never: 49ers misery porn

This one is actually from the blog writer, not the comments:

This was a horrible performance by a team that is better than the Chicago Bears. The way this went down was embarrassing. What a way to open Levi's Stadium.

From the comments:

What were the Browns willing to give us for [Harbaugh]?

Sounds more tempting now, doesn’t it?

This game is all about the referees.

They made the Bears think they could get away with anything and the 9ers tentative on defense. Thats it. There is nothing else to be said. I reject that any of this loss is based purely on the 9ers.

Ridiculous

lack of creativity, lack of poise. We lost to a team that has less talent

I'm taking a break from football for a while, I don't think this is an overreaction.

This was the opposite of entertainment. It was not fun to watch this game, and it was not fun to root for this team. Get your [expletive] together, I’m done for at least a week.

This game was given to the Bears by the NFL. Period.

cutler missed some throws in the early going. I think it had a lot to do with not being used to the pace of the receivers he was targeting. it took him a while to get going and I would expect the overall game grade to not be sparkling.

Allen wasn't very good yesterday. The forced fumble was a really good play. But other than that, he didn't do much. Looked like he crashed on read option and LBs had contain for the most part but on the plays I thought it was clear he had contain, he didn't keep it very well. His pash rushing was below average IMO, and he only was a factor when cleaning up the end of Shea's sack (heh) of Kapernick.

Did he slim down? I only saw him a couple times a year previously but he seems to just get tossed around by linemen. I understand speed is his game but he looks like a linebacker out there.

I had my 49ers fan friend use the officiating as an excuse on Facebook. I pointed out their 1st TD was a delay of game. Their 1st FG was because of a Fuller defensive holding that was a hold, but extremely brief and probably could have not been called on 3rd and 21 when the ball went to the other side of the field. And the Bears didn't score earlier because Martellus somehow didn't get a catch along the sidelines that I still can't figure out. He responded with "we had 118 penalty yards". No mention of the fact the Bears had just as many penalties called against them and I didn't see a single penalty other than the Fuller one that was remotely questionable.

Allen kept getting sucked in on that read option.

The game opened with a 30.4 rating at kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The rating then peaked for the evening at 8:30 p.m. with a 33.6. A few fans bailed, as evidenced by a 30.1 rating from 9:30-9:45 p.m., the beginning of the second half. But they came back, as the final quarter-hour (10:45-11 p.m.) posted a 32.7.

I confused his skinny ass for Shea on a couple plays and was sarcastically commenting on his play quite a bit.

I was not that shocked by the Bennett overturn. I think it maybe wasn't conclusive enough, but I understand the narrative about how that was not a catch.
