Pretty awesome that our lower level minors are all in the playoffs after all of the studs graduated. Organizational depth and future "waves" of prospects is awesome to have!

Also, for as hot garbage as Zastryzny was earlier in the season, his overall body of work this year isn't terrible. Solid K rate, anyway.

Yea, someone posted his line since his return a few days back. He's been pretty damn solid since he got back.

There's two decent sized gaps where Zastryzny wasn't pitching, I don't recall which was injury and which might be all-star game or rainout madness, so here's both.

Since 7/7: 50.2 IP, 3.90 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 50/18 K/BB, 4 HR

Since 5/20: 83 IP, 3.46 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 84/24 K/BB, 6 HR

Ah yeah I was thinking of the 5/20 line.

TIL that for procedural reasons you want at least one of you MiLB teams to not make the playoffs. i.e. The Royals have been shuttling players back and forth lately and have been using their AA team instead of their AAA team because their AAA made the playoffs. A player that was sent to the AAA team would have to play with them for at least 10 days. However, if the team's season is over the player can return to the big league club before the 10 days.

Kris Bryant won the minor league HR race yesterday, finishing with 43 to Joey Gallo's 42.

I read the milb.com article, thought it was kool that there is an actual award that pays the winner of the minor league HR crown money, like 200 per HR or something. So Bryant gets over 8000 for winning the HR crown. Not that he needs it.

that and nsbb's minor league player of the year award can buy him something worth $8650

Daytona up 5-0, still batting in the 4th.

Besides the aforementioned Vogelbach 2-run HR in the 3rd, Contreras had an RBI single and Rademacher an RBI double in the 2nd. Thus far in the 4th, Rademacher hit a sac fly to score McKinney (who had doubled).

@daytonacubs - .@kschwarb12's first grand slam with Daytona, second in the Cubs organization (6/28 vs. Beloit). This one was an opposite field blast.
