Bruce Levine confirmed it on the Score

Wayne Randazzo @WayneRandazzo

. @MLBBruceLevine just confirmed on @670TheScore that Javier Baez is being called up to the #Cubs tomorrow.

I wonder if Russell gets called up to AAA in place of, or is it far to soon for that?

Would being in AAA affect his ability to be in the AZL?

Don't think it matters what level of MILB he's in

Nevermind, he's totally fine:

Each Major League organization is required to provide six players subject to the following requirements:

All Triple-A and Double-A players are eligible, provided the players are on at least a Double-A level roster no later than Aug. 1.

One player below the Double-A level is allowed per Major League team.

One foreign player is allowed, as long as the player does not reside in a country that participates in winter ball, as part of the Caribbean Confederation or the Australian winter league.

No players with more than one year of credited Major League service as of August 31 are eligible, except a team may select one player picked in the most recently concluded Major League Rule 5 Draft.

To be eligible, players on Minor League disabled lists must be activated at least 45 days before the conclusion of their respective seasons.

Makes me wonder if we'll see CJ, Soler and possibly Almora as well. Think they use the one below-AA spot on Schwarber or do they give him a rest?

Figured I'd post this here, too.

Sahadev Sharma @sahadevsharma

Hearing it's unlikely that Addison Russell moves up to AAA this season. Probably wraps up year at AA then plays in an offseason league.

Consider me fine with that.

Daytona Cubs @daytonacubs

Today's long day of baseball will not start on time. It is currently raining at Charlotte Sports Park. Please stay tuned for updates. #grrr

AAA players were never not allowed into the AFL.

No Russell or Almora in the Smokies' lineup, and Daytona's double header was cancelled.

Bryant moves up to third in the order, and Soler remains in the fifth spot tonight. It's up to those two to do something tonight.

McLeod was relatively explicit that Stinnett was not expected to pitch in game action this season, between his innings already logged, being very new to pitching, and the Cubs wanting to work with him outside of competitive play on their 'plan' for him.

TT may have misremembered this. My recollection of McLeod's quote was that he would be limited to 15-20 innings due to his heavy workload in college.

At the KC game. underwood working 92-95 with the FB. Change was 85-86. Curve looked ok. Gave up a double down the line and another hit that led to a run. We are now under a weather delay bot 1.

Dunston absolutely barreled a ball to RC to lead off the game. He's been hot of late.

both bryant and soler walked. [expletive] i can't wait until our lineup is packed with terrifying power hitters who also have loads of patience, and getting through the lineup is like running the gauntlet of red sox/yankees lineups in the '00s.

We'll set the floor of number of pitches thrown by an opposing pitcher each inning at 20 :)

Bryant and Soler must feel like the human population in The Leftovers.
