Agreed. While it's probably true that more people would post if some of the old-timers didn't look for the most abrasive way to make their point, I'm guessing most of the lurkers probably aren't going to post regularly anyway and just use this as a news site. And it's one I'm grateful for. I sincerely appreciate those who follow the Jason Parks and Keith Law types on Twitter so I don't have to, and I'm sure a lot of others feel the same.

Don't use it all. I signed up to get in a contest or something and really haven't signed back in much. My phone dies quickly so lots of tweets would make it die even sooner.

Basically, whatever your interests might be, you can find people on twitter that mostly tweet about that topic.

I believe the talking ads were the ones on the bottom of the page. I've replaced those with text ads that shouldn't talk.
