Left the Daytona game after Almora's bomb..couple quick notes before my drive back home

Almora- Strong and Athletic. Stood out from everyone else on the field. Just looks like a ML ballplayer. Smooth swing and excellent D

Shwarber- Quick swing. Ball flies off his bat. No problems on D. Very strong arm

McKinney- Really Impressed with his bat. Didn't take any bad swings and seemed really locked in. Miss played a couple of balls in right but also showed he had good range

Vogelbach- Hard swingger. Kinda disappointed, seemed like he was just going through motions tonight.

Paniagua- Looked nervous. FB was up to 95 I think but they were squaring it up pretty good. Slider/Curve was flat. Interested to see how he does next time

If I think of anything more I'll update when I get back

he's still not walking, but he's hitting with a lot more power this month. through the end of june: 18 extra base hits in 71 games. in july: 11 extra base hits in 18 games.

Wow, definitely surprised by the Almora move.

Edit: And I say Javy and Soler are up in mid August as long as Soler continues to hit well in Iowa.

Yowzers! Almora to Tennessee is surprising, but Soler to Iowa... If that team wasn't already must-watch TV, they certainly are now. I really wish I could make a trip to Des Moines.
