Thanks to Fred for covering yesterday - my mistake.

Today, the Cubs head into the monstrosity known as Marlins Park, trying to win their 2nd consecutive road series. Hammel is trying to bounce back from one of his worst starts of the season last week. Also, we're one day closer to not having to deal with John Baker being our starting catcher.

Go Cubs!

Hammel and Shark really want to remain Cubs. Or they just really want to [expletive] us over because they know we have to trade them.

So he's gonna hit 20+ this year. Man, so nice to have this version than the confused and clueless one from last year.

No [expletive]. What kinda bum gives up HRs to Giancarlo Stanton?

DFA.

I don't know that I've ever seen an opposite field homer a) get out that fast and b) get out at such a low angle. That man's power is unfair. Seriously who the [expletive] hits home runs like this?

Looked like mcgwire's 62nd.

Edit: except opposite field, wow!

Except it was opposite field, so nothing like it at all.

PS Miami: he'd be pretty sweet as part of a deal for Stanton.

Nope. Stanton will be making 25 mill a year in 3 seasons. We've got Castro for 5/43 and an option after this year.

I love Stanton, but we've got plenty of options other than Starlin to trade for him.

Mojo was probably making the fair assumption that we need to dump salary to fit Stanton into our budget.

Well that was refreshing.

Yeah, seems like our relievers enjoy running the count full and throwing as many pitches as possible. That was short and to the point.
