How bad is MLB this year? The Cubs are a mere 6 games out in the loss column for the final WC spot. \:D/

 

I'm guessing MLB isn't even over .500 this year.

I really want to see them stretch out Neil for the rotation next year.

Agreed, what would be the best route to go with this? Send him to AAA this year to start the process? Piggyback him with someone at the AAA level (Grimm/Villanueva)? Or just stay the course this year with him in the pen and deal with it next spring?

You'd have to stretch him out this year itself or you're even further behind with converting him to a starter. You could start the process in August when there are vacancies in the rotation after the trade deadline but as you suggested, a piggyback schedule probably is necessary.
