RT @BroadcasterMick: Kris Bryant a late lineup scratch tonight for the Smokies. He was feeling ill but is still available to pitch hit.

Baez 1-1 with a 2B.

Increasing his night stats.

I don't know, 7:00 start time in Texas, it had to still be fairly light out.

Damn it!

He's just padding his daytime stats.

And now he's out after just 47 pitches. Anyone watching/listening to the game?

based on the gameday chart, it looks like the double just missed going out to right

As long as the ball eventually reaches the wall that dot is going to be at the wall, right? Or does it mean that is where it made contact with the ground?

I pretty sure it's the latter.

I think it depends a bit on the batted ball. For a ball ripped on the ground past the 3B into the corner, the dot is probably going to be where it was fielded rather than where it 'landed', but for a line drive double I imagine it would be where it first made contact with the ground. Add in that MiLB gameday is even more of an intern throwing darts at the wall and I'm not sure we can make any concrete assumptions.

It seems like very few doubles or triples actually show as going to the wall, and we know many (or most) of them do. And I think MLB gameday is actually worse when it comes to this stuff, with flyouts looking like homers and wall scrapers looking like they were hit to the moon. But yeah, none of it is consistent or particularly reliable.
