Relievers Zak Herman's and Corbin Hoffner have been promoted from extended spring training to Kane County. Nathan Dorris has been promoted from KC to Daytona. Will be interesting to see who else gets promoted as a result of this (Cates? Rivero?).

@TommyBirch: Javier Baez just misses his 5th homer of the season. Smokes a ball deep to center off the wall. Hit so hard he ends up with only a single.

@TommyBirch: So, that was about a 400 foot single for Baez. But, who's counting/measuring? #Cubs #PCL #MiLB

Damn.

is schlitter filling some new ground ball specialist role or something? why not have parker here instead.

or can we just get rid of james russell already? don't care if we replace him with a righty or lefty tbh because he sucks.

I'd be on board with this plan.

Schlitter has only walked 3 in 18.1 innings. That may have a bit to do with it too. Unsure of how the two did in spring training, but assuming Schlitter was better(since he made the squad) he's really done nothing to warrant being sent down. He likely will at some point, but even if not, Parker will get his shot again.

Almora had two more hits today, both singles. He's not hitting for power or walking, but on a positive note, his K rate is right at 10%.

For some reason that triggered me to look up Torreyes. He's putting up a .286/.333/.386 line in AAA with 6 K's in 158 PA.

Had to check just to be certain, but Russell's been pretty good as of late. Not striking a lot of guys out, but he hasn't walked a guy in his past 8 games. Only given up 3 runs in his past 10. Trade value will never be what it was last year, but no reason to dump him just to dump him. Not yet.
