Olt....18K's, 2BB's.....not a good sign

 

Olt seems to constantly be behind 0-2 or 1-2 in the count. I'd like to see him be more aggressive early in the count, but he seems to NOT make contact a lot.

 

I don't know what I'm talking about with mechanics, but it appears to my untrained eye that his swing is incredibly long. He also kind of swings down and then up, like a loop, instead of a quick compact stroke. I would assume this leads to swinging over the top of a lot of breaking balls. He seems to be able to adjust to different speeds, but any breaking movement and he just can't make contact. that's a long way of saying I agree with you, he should start looking more first pitch fastball.

Regardless Olt should be in there every [expletive] day, period, and put Valbuena at second. I'm sick of this "setting him up for success" [expletive]. What Renteria is setting him up for is stagnation or even regression. This is a 100 loss team, and Olt is 25 years old. He won't improve in a platoon at this age.

Then bring up Bryant. It's an insult to my intelligence that they act like they're protecting some elite talent with Olt. Throw him to the wolves or stop pretending he's still a prospect. Right?

This might be the toughest matchup they face in the playoffs. If they close this series out, the road to the final is quite clear.

 

Have they beaten Anaheim or Colorado this year yet?

I'm still really scared of Anaheim. I doubt that they'd meet, obviously, but teams like Columbus scare me too. Bruising teams that dump and chase.

I'm praying for San Jose assuming we make it past St Louis and Colorado. Still don't think we win a cup last year if we get Anaheim instead of Detroit.

You don't even believe that yourself. It's ok to be concerned, but any Hawks fan at this point believes they're capable of anything at any time. Resilient bunch of [expletive].

 

Also the hawks are 2-0-1 against the ducks this year.

I don't remember the Anaheim games, but they dominated the crap out of Colorado every time they played, just didn't show up in the scoreboard.

 

 

Soooo they didn't really dominate them.
