If the Avs win tonight, I don't see why a Thursday start is out of the question unless the NHL is set on a Friday/Saturday start.

So apparently Backes wasn't concussed. He had a broken toe.

 

That doesn't make any sense since the Blues officially called it an upper body injury, at least that's what I heard. Also, was a broken toe really going to heal enough to play over a span of 5 days?

I wonder if there's confusion between two different injuries. Backes had a foot injury earlier in April.

@jprutherford No one wants to hear about injuries but FYI, Backes was playing with a broken toe. He did NOT have a concussion. #stlblues

 

@jprutherford He had extreme stiffness, soreness in head/neck area, too. Couldn't defend himself because he couldn't turn head.

Already have heard carping about "east coast bias" for Doughty and Vlasic not making the list, though nobody is saying Keith shouldn't have been there.

The year Malkin won, Crosby had been hurt the entire year. The year Crosby won he was that good.

 

Had Kane played the whole season he would be in the Hart conversation. Now that he won the Selke last year, that will be the award that hockey writers always associate with him. Just laziness on the part of sportswriters. Nothing new.

I believe he is talking about Saturday, which is where the conflict with the Bulls would take place.

They wont do Thursday since game 7 isn't until tomorrow. They cant do an afternoon hockey game with an NBA game at night on Saturday, if we see another 3OT game it would be a disaster.

They wont do Thursday since game 7 isn't until tomorrow. They cant do an afternoon hockey game with an NBA game at night on Saturday, if we see another 3OT game it would be a disaster.

 

But the Bulls game is listed as TBD for Saturday. That could be the day game.

Yeah sorry poor wording. Meant if the Bulls get eliminated on Thursday.

 

But good point about OT. And according to the internet it takes 2 hours for the UC to go from ice to court and slightly less to go from court to ice. So it would make much more sense to do the NBA game first.

I honestly think Chara should not be a finalist, unless diving is somehow considered important for the Norris
