Yeah, I'm with raw. Everything I've read is the Texans are set with Clowney and that's why he's no longer doing team workouts. It's the right decision too.

This is a really tough pick. Hard to settle on Chad Henne at QB, but Sammy Watkins is very explosive at WR and Khalil Mack is fantastic. However, with the questions surrounding Blackmon's ability to stay out of trouble and Cecil Shorts' limited track record and the lack of an outstanding QB at the top, the choice is made.

The Jaguars select Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson.

WF22 and the Browns are on the clock. I PMd him.

Sammy Watkins was certainly in play. They definitely need a QB, but with no QBs taken yet, they could still get a good one with their second pick. The Browns can occasionally surprise. They should just go BPA (Mack) or a QB (they have their pick) here but they do the dumb thing and reach for a WR in a deep WR draft;

Mike Evans WR, Texas A&M

The RAIDERS need help everywhere but their pick IMO needs to help change the direction of the franchise, spark some life into the team and fan base. You can argue Bortles and Manziel all day and to me it's either vanilla or chocolate with no clear top prospect at QB. My mind says Bortles but Manziel is a natural fit for the Raiders.

The Raiders select QB Johnny Manziel

Yeah, I could justify any of the three directions and maybe it's just my personal bias, but I don't see enough of a gap between the top 4 QBs (Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, Carr) and the second and third tier guys (Garrapolo, Murray, Shaw, McCarron, Mettenberger, etc). I could see Bradley going with Mack/Watkins in the first and then waiting a bit to get one of the later QBs in a Russell Wilson-esque move.

Mack was extremely tempting there, though, with Bradley being a defensive coach.

Carr would have been the QB if I went that direction. Mack was tempting if I thought the Browns would do that. If it was me, my order would have been Mack then Bortels or Carr. Watkins was the only WR I would have considered there, but going Adams would surprise me if that scenario played out.

Mack is perfect for Bradley's system. I think they start him at Sam LB next to Posluszny and then work him into what will be Chris Clemons' role.

But they do look like they can get by for the year on D. Makings of a strong front 4. Good MLB. And their best players on offense are Cecil Shorts and Toby Gerhart. Ugh.

You [expletive].

Needs at CB, LB and possibly S on defense, I would try to trade down a bit here if possible. Obviously have to get a QB somewhere. I'm personally not huge on Bortles and he seems like Norv's kind of QB but every site/outlet has a different story on who they actually like. Tempted to take Mosley here but....

The Vikings select Blake Bortles

Am I correct that Greg Robinson is still out there? If so, wow.

Yes.

Most of what I've read ranks him as one of three can't-miss prospects in the draft, the others being Watkins and Clowney.

Sorry, I PMed Dew my list of picks last night in case I wasn't around.

No surprise...

Bills select Greg Robinson OT Auburn.

Sorry about that. I saw your PM in my e-mail, but didn't have time to get on the board when your pick was up. That's my fault.

This is exactly why I went Watkins over Mack. As great a fit as Mack is for that system, I just couldn't, with a good conscience, leave them with that mess on offense.

everybody's mocking a CB for us, but we're not exactly hurting for young CBs- really just need to develop them some more...another playmaker on D would be welcome, though

1 Texans - Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina.

2 Rams (from WAS)- Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

3 Jaguars - Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

4 Browns - Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M

5 Raiders - Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

6 Falcons - Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo

7 Buccaneers - Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

8 Vikings - Blake Bortles, QB, UCF

9 Bills - Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

10 Lions - Anthony Barr, UCLA

Anthony Barr and Greg Robinson were both very high on my list for this pick, but both of them are gone. Gilbert is certainly a possibility (and the best pick here, in my opinion). However, the Titans let Verner go because they feel very good about the duo of Sensabaugh/Wreh-Wilson to replace him, so I'd be pretty surprised if they go CB here.

So, that leaves a very high risk/high reward player to fill a major need for this team. Switching to a hybrid 3-4, our ILBs are (I guess) Colin McCarthy and either Moise Fokou or Akeem Ayers. Only 1 of those 3 (Ayers) should be a starter in the NFL, so we need to fix the inside of our LB corps.

So, the pick here is C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama. I PMd goony.

As I'm sure Raisin will be taking suggestions, it's sure to be between Dix and Donald. While I dong love the idea of 1st round S, but I like Dix a lot and I feel there is a better shot of getting a DT in round two than a S. So I would choose Dix, but it's close.
