Lead off triple for Jacoby Hannemann.

Alcantara single also.

I wonder if Javy is being asked to work on something specific like adjusting his swing or being more selective. Then again it doesnt make sense to introduce him to a new level and then mess with things.

How did Javy begin the year at Daytona last year?

He started off very slowly at both Daytona and Tennessee IIRC. He also wasn't too hot in the AFL.

He had five hits in his first 38 plate appearances, with 12 strikeouts, two walks, one double, one triple, and one homer (.147/.211/.324).

At AA, he started off with two hits in his first 20 at bats, with one home run and five strikeouts.

he didn't even record a single hit in the AFL!

Huh?

EDIT - oh, you mean last year.

Javy just doubled on a fly ball to CF. Gameday has the dot over the fence, so I'm assuming he just missed another homer?

Edit - Yep, that's what that Tommy Birch guy said.

Weren't both homers in his first at bats in both leagues?

Baez grounds a single through the right side of the infield and is now 2-4 today. #Cubs #PCL #MiLB

Vitters off to a nice 7-20, 2 doubles, 2 HR start. First walk today too. .350/.381/.750 line.

Sure works for me.

[expletive]!

What Cub prospect list was there ever that included Rizzo but not Baez? Baez was drafted in 2011, Cubs traded for Rizzo in 2012.
