It's finally here, boys and girls. Real baseball that actually counts and stuff. Plenty of story lines early on to make this not feel like a tragic and futile endeavor so GET EXCITED!!!

Also, please come back to us, Fred. You are missed.

Also, please come back to us, Fred. You are missed.

Where is he anyways? I saw him posting on Facebook a week or two ago

I hate our lineup against lefties a little bit less. It should flirt with adequacy in games like this. I like our chances.

HA! That's kind of catchy.

Chicago Cubs Baseball 2014: Flirting with Adequacy.

Much like Kyle flirts with positivity.

I'm reading that ESPN The Magazine article about Epstein and my hope boner is throbbing.

Hitters are put through a battery of proprietary video-game-style tests to gauge hand-eye coordination and pitch recognition. Cubs players at every level are required to play these "games" daily.

I want this [expletive] to work soooo badly.

Edit: aaannd it's gone

You're like the cubbyvirus00 of Cubs threads

And you insult posters because you think it makes you cool. We all got a part to play.

when you're kyle, you can't whine about other people, holy [expletive]

So with Liriano going for the Bucs, do the Cubs feature the RH-hitting lineup to include Rizzo? Or does Ricky go with Valbuena as the veteran presence at 3rd Base (over Olt) on opening day? Who gets the nod in RF? I assume Schierholtz is the everyday starter, even against lefties.

You can only be insecure and trying to fit in after like 11 years.

If Liriano starts for #Pirates Monday, @mike_olt will start at 3B for the #Cubs

I wonder if they throw Bonifacio in the outfield and have him lead off.

That would be my guess:

(S) Bonifacio - CF

® Castro - SS

(L) Rizzo - 1B

® Olt - 3B

® Ruggiano - RF

® Lake - LF

® Castillo - C

® Barney - 2B

® Sammy J - P

Theo didn't say that. Just making sure everyone who didn't read the piece realizes this.

Also - I can't come up with the name...I remember there was a hire among the 2011 guys in scouting/player development or something who since left the team. I'm guessing that's who they got some of these quotes from. Anyone?
