You can't take my moral crusade against a Cubs mascot from me. I could live with it when he's a kiddie attraction that shows up in hospitals or in his special clubhouse on the concourse or whatever. Now he's showing up on the field and being an outward face of the organization to anyone with a couple bucks. I hate it.

and it looks like he needs a haircut, which probably really tips you over the edge

I mean that gratuitous tuft of hair sticking out the front looks ridiculous

If he'd stop throwing money away by tipping maybe he could afford to have it cut more often. Now he's forced to sell himself to every Lake Forest 10 year old having a birthday, sad.

Rent, not sell. And make no mistake, it's Ricketts pimping him out for that extra revenue.

Corporate events? It used to be about the kids. Now he's selling out, man.

i like things that are horrible and stupid so this makes me happy

I agree with you, so long as the horrible and stupid thing is unimportant. So I also am happy.

Is this guy a Cubs fan or a Cubs hater? Either way, it's great at being terrible and stupid.

I was really surprised that nobody got it, and even more surprised that nobody guessed a baseball team since the answer specifically mentioned the team not having a mascot for 100 years, or over 100 years or something like that. Point is, it mentioned 100 years, and the guesses were for a football team, a hockey team and a basketball team, so they managed to miss the only sport here that has 100 year-old teams.

I didn't see it, but that part doesn't surprise me. For remarkably smart people, Jeopardy contestants tend to be incredibly stupid on sports questions.

I see sports categories get dominated all the time on the show. It's still just knowledge cramming.

yeah, clark the cub is weird knowledge you wouldn't expect, but a big part of doing well on the show is just memorizing lots and lots of lists of things that come up frequently. some of those lists are sports.

Jeopardy is almost entirely "book learnin'" facts, so when they throw in a true trivia question, I'm never surprised that people get it wrong

"Sports mascots" doesn't strike me as "true trivia" so much as just another list of factoids these freaks would obsess over, hence why I was surprised.

Forget about specific teams- I think the MLB is the only one with even a 100 year history (maybe NHL too).
