I'll be wired up with an EEG and EKG, among other instruments, during the game. I wonder if anyone has collected that sort of data on the physiological response to watching preseason football before.

Whoa. Are you doing OK?

Just another sleep test. The whole "100% of costs covered after meeting deductible+OOP max" thing has some perverse incentives.

That was an easy game to turn off to go to sleep at 10:30 on a Friday night.

Sleep apnea?

Bears cut Kofi Hughes, Adrian Wilson and Nate Collins.

Wow. Thought Adrian Wilson had a shot of making it, and Collins has been solid in the past, guess he hasn't recovered from injury enough.

Sleep apnea?

Yes. Possibly narcolepsy, too.

Bears are keeping QB Jimmy Clausen over Jordan Palmer, who is being released, per sources. For now, Clausen has won Bears' backup job.

Pretty easy call I think.

My cousin is an equipment guy for the Bears and I just saw on FB that he nominated Conte for the ice bucket challenge.

Agreed.

Senn and Reynaurd are gone as well.

Jacoby Ford was released by the Jets. Can he return kicks?

I'm guessing that Chris Williams is going to get first crack at it. They just wanna rest his hammy and make sure he's ready for the regular season.

I know I am beating this drum frequently and loudly, but I just hope Williams is good enough to at least return them without fumbling every 4th or 5th time.

I was camping on the Coast in Oregon. Thank god I missed this preseason game. Blahhh I can't understand the Tucker hire

I understand the Tucker hire. Made complete sense to me at the time. Retaining Tucker, on the other hand? Dumb as hell. And we are going to pay for it.

If I noticed this when the schedule came out, I'd completely forgotten until just now...the Bears don't play the Lions for the first time this year until our 12th game of the season, Nov 27. And they don't play the Vikings until the 10th game. They'll have played both of the Packers games by the time they see either of the other two division rivals for the first time.

Just a weird scheduling quirk.

It'll be interesting to see how the Bears defense start this season. Buffalo and San Francisco have been absolutely pathetic on offense with their 1st teams (actually entire team for the most part). Jets we know aren't going to be any good offensively. They are 3 really good running games though, so if the Bears can't keep these teams off the scoreboard, it's probably going to be a long season.

After the Seattle game, I think it's going to be very important to get this team some confidence on defense early, before they get to the GB, Atlanta, New England part of the schedule.

Well I would not have called Lance Briggs getting that good of a score. Also, if I recall, Tillman was pretty horrible last preseason too.

Jordan Palmer sure enjoyed his time with the Bears.

Coach Trest didn't want players to make predictions about this year. As a former bear I can say that I believe this is a SB team w an MVP QB

I'll be wearing #bears gear and supporting the bears for the rest of my life. Regardless of what happens. This is the best org in the NFL.

I'm not going to freak out about a pre-season game, however the Linebackers still look suspect. I also cannot emphasize how irritated I am to see Chandler Jones have another monster performance and to see Shea steamrolled time and time again. Emery also chose Kyle Long over Trufant which at the time was awful. Trufant now looks (per Matt Miller) like a top 5 CB in all of football. Thanks Phil.

Well...ok...you're acting like Kyle Long turned out to be [expletive] though.

I think hes been above average, but I still have a problem with taking a Guard in the first round of a draft for a variety of reasons. Especially when you have other players that are universally considered higher ranked.

We're paying the sins for Angelo being a turd in the draft, but Phil hasn't exactly been the remedy. Sure he's had a few hits the last 3 years (Alshon, Long(?)), but to date he hasn't found 1 good defensive player in the draft and we're still searching for a Safety since Mike Brown.
