Answer me this though, is there any realistic possibility of a regression offensively? Forte's starting to exit his prime, O-Line was ridiculously healthy last year, defenses might start figuring out ways to counter Trestman, etc. It doesn't seem likely, but it's something I've thought about.

To be fair, the one thing Emery has done is go after healthy players. Neither Slauson or Bushrod has ever missed a game since becoming full-time starters. Garza has missed 2 games in the last 10 years. Marshall hasn't missed any games since he turned his life around, can only assume his conditioning has gone along with that.

This year, he signed Allen, Mundy, and Houston. Allen has missed 2 games in 10 years. Houston and Mundy have never missed a game in 9 combined seasons. Even the draft picks are guys that have been healthy in college.

That's not to say these guys will play all 16, but the odds are in favor of a lot of the guys. Plus, the Bears are more equipped to handle injuries or guys not at 100% like Peppers and Tillman were most of the season.

Stuff like this makes me hate us not having a Hard Knocks even more

I think we would discover that nobody likes Forte.

Why

In that video it looks like he was by himself the whole time, while most of the others were with some teammates.

I couldn't tell how real that was. In every Adams segment that I've seen that Forte appears, he and AA have this kind of stand off-ish routine going, as in they hate each other but jokingly. I thought that's all it was really

*shrugs*

They like him well enough when he's scoring a TD.

Dallas just released Kyle Orton. I'd feel quite a bit better if he was our backup over Palmer/Clausen. Go get him Phil.

Orton isn't really interested in playing at this point. He's been talking retirement.

Apparently the Cowboys were fining him and everything -- for missing all the offseason activities. Yeah, he's not coming back.

Screw that. Orton sucks.

My least favorite Bears player in the last 20 years (non Olin Kreutz division).

Well ok, but if he's interested in playing, he's better than those other backup options.

Moot point though, cuz he's not.

For as unhealthy as we were on D we were REALLY healthy on O, despite Cutler missing time. Health is easily the most likely way our O regresses.

The depth at QB,RB,WR, TE could be a huge issue if injuries happen.

If the Bears D can finish top 20, I don't see any reason the Bears aren't a 10 or 11 win team this year.

Disliking Orton is kind of odd. But I've always geared my anger more towards our array of inept coaches (Shoop, Shea, etc.) rather than individual players.

I don't get the Orton hate either. He was a pretty decent 4th round pick who did his job. There was some stupid fan/media love of the guy, but he was fine and helped facilitate the Cutler trade.

Didn't know Orton was considering retirement. My bad.

Quinn, Henry Burris, and Todd Collins are the three worst Bears QBs I've ever seen. Honorable mention Caleb Hanie. I have no idea how or why he's still employed as an NFL QB.

Glad to see the irrational Orton hate is still alive and well. I can't think of many other non-starting QBs I'd want to backup Cutler.

Those guys sucked, but Orton himself I had no beef with. Solid backup, stupidly hilarious party animal, got the Bears Cutler, inspired my "Neckbeard" jersey. He's alright.

Yes, but this is part of what made him cool.
