So this guy has a big leg it sounds like but his negatives:

Inconsistent accuracy on coffin corner attempts.

Struggles with hang time consistency, especially on shorter directional attempts.

Approach is somewhat slow and deliberate, giving defense an opportunity for blocks.

Forget that he's a P, I don't think he's gonna be a very good one. Bad pick.

Do we have a long snapper on the roster? Serious question.

Yeah, I think the guy from Iowa State (Van Der Kamp) would have been a better pick if you HAD to draft a Punter.

Quoted from BR, but his NFL profile write up was similar.

O'Donnell did average 47.1 yards per punt, 2nd in the NCAA. Seems like a cap meditated pick to me. As you're saving a mill or two of space, if you're signing a good vet. But I'm not sure, it seems like there'd be a ton of relatively adequate guys out there without jobs. Maybe they think this guy is a stud.....

maybe we just won't have shorter directional attempts because we won't be punting in those spots

Seattle has had a really shitty draft. Not that this is the end all be all, but they've drafted all players that I think are reaches or have never even heard of.

Seems like a little "we're smarter than you" is setting in like the Lovie bears.

Major blue balls from this draft class. Fuller and Sutton appear to have the best values, I'm lukewarm on Carey but that's about it. Vereen was taken in the appropriate round. If we can somehow walk away with Lyerla id feel much better in having a pick with a high upside/potential steal

I've read that Fales arm is actually pretty average, and not as Pennington-like as people are making it out to be. Like the pick, and personally hope he wrestles the backup spot away from Palmer sooner rather than later.

Hard to be excited about a punter no matter who it is, but it will be nice to have a big leg for once after agonizing years of Maynard and Podlesh. I assume he'll win the starting gig.

I don't mind Fales I'm just not sure if I want 3 QBs on the roster, and I'm guessing he wouldn't be the only backup, so does he clear waivers so we can stash on the PS?

Well, I don't know much about him but the few scouting reports I just dug up are practically screaming noodle arm.

FWIW

Jordan Palmer on David Fales: "Anybody who has thrown with him would not question his arm strength." #Bears

Bears QB Jordan Palmer on friend and new teammate QB David Fales: "He’s got a big, strong arm and is a really good athlete."

I Always need pre and post practice work.

I'm assuming that the 31st pick in the 7th round belongs to the Bears. ESPN never updated that one and Denver is still listed in that spot.

NFL.com has the Bears at 31.

If Brandon Coleman is still available at #31, would he be worth a look at WR? 6'6" with decent speed and has slipped a bit because of a previous knee injury? Probably would have taken a gamble pick like that over a punter.

Love the Fuller, Sutton, and Vereen picks. Like Ferguson and Carey somewhat. Have no issue at all with Fales. I'm not going to bash the draft based on drafting a 6th round punter. We addressed needs and filled in backup holes as well. Worst grade I'll give is a B-, likely a straight B.

Yeah, he'd be a fine gamble. Definitely has more than 7th round talent.

Also like Tiny Richardson, Shayne Skov and Colt Lyerla.
