Did anyone hear what they were talking about on B&Bernstein last week in that Seattle had easily the most roster moves over the past however long period of time and it wasn't even close. The number was 1,100 something so I don't know if that's since Pete Carroll has been there or what. But the Patriots were #2 with 900 or so.

I really like Walt's mock draft today for the Bears.

FS Dix

CB Purifoy

DT Johnson (LSU)

A pretty good first 3 selections especially if you can add a DE in FA.

Would rather have Roby or SJB than Purifoy in that situation.

Also, I wonder if Pryor ends up going ahead of HaHa.

If he has a better combine showing then I would imagine he would. It's weird how certain players just start to leapfrog others near draft day

Agree. Rather have those other 2 CBs over Purifoy. I like Purifoy, but those guys are clearly better, imo.

And i'd easily take Pryor over Haha. To me, Pryor can do everything Dix can do in the deep middle of the field (maybe not as fast) but can also play the Kam Chancellor role and just fly all over the underneath part of the field and legally hit people. Dix is not a safety you want in the box (pun).

Michael Bennett was on Carm and Jurko today. Despite all the reports about him being 100% back to Seattle, he seemed to be very indirect when asked about his FA. He kept saying its a business and that he'd love to play with his brother.

Jerry Angelo rates all of the QB's from this season...

http://www.thesidelineview.com/columns/nfl/former-bears-gm-jerry-angelo-rates-every-quarterback-2013-nfl-season

His thoughts on Cutler, who he rated as tied with Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, and Matt Stafford.

Has all the physical tools, but inconsistent in the clutch. Mostly due to a lack of poise. He’s not comfortable reading defenses and consequently locks onto a favorite or pre-determined target, that may or may not be the right choice. The less he’s asked to see the better he is. A better half field general, than a full field one.

Removing Cutler from this for the sake of attempting to be objective.

Wilson and Smith seem to fit perfectly in Angelo's description for the 7.0 - 7.4 group. But he's got them ranked 2 full groups ahead of that. He seems to be giving them individual extra credit for the accomplishments of the rest of their teams -- especially the defenses. Not to rail on Wilson -- he's my boy (Badgers), and had a great year, obviously. But the best defense in the league as well. Smith operated with DVOA's #9 defense.

And if I didn't know the numbers associated with each of his descriptions, I would have had difficulty knowing that his 7.5 - 7.9 group was supposed to be higher than the 7.0 - 7.4 group.

Free agent DL Michael Bennett has made it clear he's not open to a "hometown discount" with the Seahawks.

"There is no such thing as discount," Bennett said Tuesday. "This is not Costco, this is not Walmart — this is real life. ... You want to be compensated for the way that you perform and the kind of teammate you are." Bennett is on the record as wanting to remain in Seattle, but he's more on the record for wanting top dollar. It's an understandable sentiment after Bennett got the short shrift in free agency last year. He's no better than 50-50 to return to Seattle.

The Bears have hired martial arts expert Joe Kim to help develop hand technique and skill development. He will reportedly work with all of the position groups to help improve players' ability to block or escape blocks.

Apparently this is the 9th team he will have worked with.

Kansas City most recently. I read that Kim's title was "pass rush development specialist". Cool that he's working with everyone (Kyle Long already does martial arts training). It's a pretty useful skill for all positions, other than QB, I guess.

A piece of Earl Bennett's heart was taken away Dec. 23. But the Bears receiver is able to smile through the pain when remembering the larger-than-life personality of his older brother.

Prentice "Moo" Bennett passed away in Houston just before Christmas, less than a week after being diagnosed with the N1H1 flu, which has reportedly taken over 30 lives in Texas this winter. He also suffered from diabetes, which commonly causes flu complications.

Prentice was 35. He leaves a wife and four children.

"He was a loving guy," Earl Bennett told ChicagoBears.com. "Everybody who knew him knew him for his jokes. He would always call and tell you a joke each and every day. It would be some of the most off the wall stuff. I remember this one joke he told me. I can't say it, but it was pretty good."

After Prentice was hospitalized, Earl spent the week leading up to the Dec. 22 Bears-Eagles game in Houston at his brother's side. The veteran receiver rejoined the team in time to play in Philadelphia, but immediately returned to Texas to be with his family. Prentice passed away Dec. 23.

From the latest Josh Norris mock draft at Rotoworld:

14. Chicago Bears - DT Timmy Jernigan, FSU

I do not evaluate Jernigan this highly. I think he wins as a 1/0 after delivering a strong punch to keep his opposition off balance. The problem is when he tends to move laterally around blockers after not winning off the snap. He is not agile when moving east and west. With that said, the Bears need to upgrade the interior of their defensive line. Badly.
