surprised bylsma went with quick for game one.

Why? The Slovaks have some magical players and I have zero faith in Miller.

 

im saying ryan miller is better than jonathan quick. he's been better than quick this year (.923 save percentage playing in front of a catastrophic defense/team), he was way better than quick last year, and he was magical at the 2010 olympics. quick has been playing really well recently, but he's been very pedestrian (and often very bad) since his cup run 2 years ago. he's not a bad option and he's very capable of taking over games, but i'd rather have miller.

I enjoyed watching our match against Denmark the other night because their skip messed up in two ends allowing us to get points when they had the hammer. Shuster couldn't even mess it up because of how badly their guy did.

yeah i was watching with no announcers also so i thought it was a horrible shot, but i saw later that it was actually a very difficult shot and his throw was pretty good. they still suck.

I think interference getting called more consistently also helps the pace. I think that is something the NHL could easily do and have at times tried, but do not carry through.

I just love that it makes forechecking/line clogging a bigger risk, because if you whiff, you get burned. It speeds up the action and keeps it from just being dump and chase/tie-up on the wall hockey

Pavelski and Kane have been great most the 2nd half of the game for US. They have to stay on the same line going forward I would think.
