Keith, Sharp and Toews on the Canada team. No Crawford.

Or Seabrook. Mike Smith over Crow is a bite. But Crow's injury didn't help.

For some reason Seabrook doesn't get nearly the love he ought to.

Doesn't making Team Canada mean you're one of the very best players in the world? I thought Sharp wasn't on that level or is it more nuanced than that?

Couple things. First I think we take him for granted since he's the 4th or 5th biggest name on the roster. He would be the franchise player for a handful of teams.

Also, he's just really hot right now. 25 goals, 46 points, +22 in 45 games. Unreal. Yes he's playing with top-flight talent, but he will be playing with the same level or better talent at the Olympics.

So overall I think you might say Giroux (until recently) or Neal are better players, but right now Sharp was the better choice for this team.

Even people that were screaming about Giroux or Martin St Louis being left off weren't complaining about Sharp making the team. Chris Kunitz seems to be the one that people are focusing on as undeserving.

And Saad sounds like he has a good chance to make it with any injuries to US forwards.

I'm pretty surprised St. Louis didn't make it, especially with Stevie Y. in charge. That's some cold-blooded [expletive].

The US Women's Hockey team has lost twice, in 4 separate games, to High School Boys teams in exhibition games leading up to the Olympics

that's pretty cool.

I'm going to try and get my daughter to like the women's team next month.

She's very princessy but on Sunday she said, "Dad, can I watch football with you?" and it was the proudest moment of my life.

At my son's hockey practice yesterday, my daughter turns to me and says "I want to play hockey, not figure skate."

Oh those progressive Europeans.

A senior Italian IOC member criticized the United States on Wednesday for including openly gay athletes in its official delegation for next month's Sochi Olympics.

"It's absurd that a country like that sends four lesbians to Russia just to demonstrate that in their country gay rights have (been established)," Mario Pescante said at an Italian Olympic Committee meeting in Milan on Wednesday, in comments widely reported by Italian media. "The games should not be an occasion and a stage to promote rights that sports supports daily."

"We've seen boycotts, concerns over Aborigine rights in Australia, the Tibet issue in China. It's enough already," Pescante told The AP. "There are always going to be issues wherever the games are held, but the best way to combat these issues is by letting the games unfold and sending thousands of journalists to these places to report on what is going on there."

It's like Obama dispatched a delegation of gay jedis to negotiate with the hated trade federation. I love it.

The 30 by 30 with Kerrigan and Harding is crazy to revisit. Harding doesn't exactly come off looking good in interviews today.

Harding has never looked good, in interviews or otherwise, today, or long ago.

I wonder what she charges for an interview. Undoubtedly she needs money. Otherwise, why do this interview?

Hopes of becoming relevant again and maybe appear on some reality show.

She's a commenter on world's most outrageous something or other.

The NHL should just go ahead and cancel all the games between now and the Olympics. It's like the last day before Christmas break at school for most of the good teams.

Or maybe they could just skip right to the shoout out, not that it would help the Hawks much but it would keep me from being tempted to watch some bad hockey games late at night.
