need the rest. Kind of lucky to have Washington facing an emotional primetime road game this week. It would be nice to put the final nail in the coffin on another NFC East team

Have you seen the NFC East this year? The entire division has nails in coffins, and yet someone will make the playoffs. Washington is a half game out of first at 1-3 and probably has the best intradivisional win.

You know, for some reason I keep thinking Dallas is 3-2 and not the opposite.

I guess if Dallas beats Washington this weekend and then Philly the next, or if Philly wins at Tampa and then against Dallas, it could be a nail situation.

But this has the looks of a 8-8 division winner situation.

So DJ Williams might have a torn pec.

Trestman did indicate Anderson's injury isn't serious so there's that.

Ugh. Bostic has potential, but he misses assignments a lot.

He's a rook. Give him a chance.

Personally I think Bostic will wind up being the better player. I don't mind seeing him out there.

Heck, everyone's already blowing assignments all over the damn field on D anyway, or flat out getting blown UP in their assignments. At least Bostic can lay the wood.

I didn't say I didn't think Bostic had potential, but he's missed enough that I don't feel comfortable with him being the starter there, like he's apparently going to be now. I'd just prefer that he get occasional reps until he's more comfortable with his assignments.

In the long run, it'll be good for him. In the short run, it has a high probability of being bad for us.

BTW, Brandon Merriweather could "lay the wood", but he's a crummy player. Laying the wood is easy. Playing your assignments isn't.

FWIW, Bostic played a lot of the 2nd half and all of the 4th quarter last night. I thought he looked pretty good. He made a couple plays on Jacobs on 0-1 yard runs. And it looked like he plugged the hole a couple times to make Jacobs bounce his fat ass outside (where nobody else was to tackle him). The first play after the Williams injury was in the nickel (Anderson was out too) and he did an excellent job getting depth and taking away the seam. Of course it was the 3rd down play that Nicks was wide open on near the sidelines and Bowman missed the tackle resulting in a 30-or-so-yard gain.

On the downside, Bostic played on a 3rd and short (4 LB set) formation and got eaten alive as Jacobs busted thru the line. I actually think he may be more effective in the pass game at this point because he can use athleticism over his brain right now.

I disagree, I think he missed a lot of stuff. But it's definitely subjective. If I can get the PFF numbers on him, I'll post them.

EDIT: Here we go

So Melton, Collins and DJ Williams all potentially out for the season. Tillman, Paea and Anderson banged up. Am I missing anyone else?

Just doesn't seem possible for him to go down so far, so fast. Is he playing hurt too?

pretty much everyone is hoping he is hurt. Then again he did this type of [expletive] in Carolina where he disappeared for weeks only to emerge. As he gets older, that possibility is less likely.

doesn't he have plantar fasciitis?

nice to see wootton grade out so well considering they had him at DT

Sooo do we make a trade for a decent body on the Dline or do we risk the chance of giving up 30+ points a game here on out to good teams?

Rodgers is gonna feast on our D

DJ Williams out for the season. Sheesh.

Positive grade in pass coverage. Kinda goes to what I was saying about Bostic. Everyone sucked on run D. I thought he was better than Williams, who was consistently out of position.

I'll rewatch the game and see what I think 2nd time thru.

Williams was relegated to being a 2 down LB was he not? Anderson was getting the Nickel snaps.

I'm kind of excited to see if Bostic can make some standout plays at MLB. If we're gonna take an injury hit, I'd rather it be at LB then CB or DE.

I swear, ever since the miracle injury free year of 2010 we've gotten some shitty injuries.

Yeah, what's the worst that can happen? The Defense is already bad. Maybe he can spark with some hits and create some turnovers.
