Noooooooope.

I don't really think he did all that much and that's what he was apologizing for to begin with.

All he really did was acknowledge Bernstein's comment in his response where he was just continuing to say she sucks at her job (which she absolutely does). He didn't even piggyback onto them in anyway, just referenced what he said.

Come on, David. Yeah, "I can't share in your appreciation of this person's huge boobs" is totally validated because he oafishly mentions he thinks she sucks at her job.

Wait, why is it oafish to say someone on TV who is terrible at their job is bad at their job?

Yes, could've done without the first reference but hardly worthy of a public apology on its own IMO.

Again, though, there were subsequent Tweets where he went further where I understand that it was warranted.

It's not. It's a little chicken [expletive] to play along when a co-worker hijacks your criticism to be about sexual objectification.

Not to mention the sad, half-assed attempt to delete one of the tweets.

There was a way to criticize the way women in media are objectified by pointing out her hotness. There are thousands of people who would be better at her job but not look as good doing it. Bernstein might try to spin it that he was trying to point that out, but that's an impossible reach after he doubled and tripled down on the "boobs" stuff.

Yep.

And she is very, very bad at her job. Like so bad that I can't believe they can't find somebody else to do it.

Seems like they've been giving Jen Lada more airtime lately though and I think she's pretty competent.

Kinda surprised he hasn't been heard from yet.

I'm guessing management is having a meeting with him right now and figuring out the damage control.

To briefly segue to a lighter note, I will always enjoy Bruce Levine's chronic inability to post tweets without spelling and grammatical errors.

Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine

Jon Lester begins his stat

Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine

Lester clean first inning .good mechanic al inning

Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine

Lester has good command changeling speeds well

He also doesn't know the difference between to/too

Mulligan this morning said he wasn't "adverse" to something. You're a writer, man.

Bernstein said he's an idiot. The tweet was childish and unnecessary, made an observation he shouldn't have made. Said there's a time to be crass and this wasn't it.

It's oafish because it's a bit of attempted ass-saving; he was self-aware enough to realize he better throw in a shot at her job performance to "justify" the boob talk, but he's too much of a failure to begin with to not be a little sycophant to the de-facto boss slobbering over a colleague's boobs.

I have no rooting interest in Bernstein's terrible, terrible work, but I do enjoy making fun of his tiny, tiny dick.

You do understand you're basically the Dan Bernstein of NSBB?

He might not be the Bernstein, but he might be THE KATIE NOLAN OF NSBB

"@katienolan: I have no interest in what Dan Bernstein's work, but would enjoy seeing his tiny dick."

OH [expletive]

*FLEX BOMB*

Is katie nolan jacking our guy's material?

Hey, I have no desire to actually see the thing. It would be like staring at a really gross eclipse.

Really? I'd probably expect it'd be more like a scared turtle.

Honestly, I like Bernstein (the Bears next season "not mattering" is probably my biggest issue with him of late as far as annoying opinions he keeps repeating)...I get why some people hate him, but his histrionics about rebuilds and "does this get you closer to a championship" crap aside, he's about as smart a guy as you'll find in his line of work and he rails against all the stupid dogmatic romanticism associated with our teams (i.e. Bears weather, Bears win with defense, Cubs curse, etc.)...the fact that he rails on the idiocy and anti-intellectualism about sports and the local idiots that write about them is why I like him. He's not always right, but he's right way more often than almost anyone and he hates all the same local writer idiots that we hate (except Rozner). When awful people/things need to be ripped mercilessly, he is much more willing than anyone else. The Penn State stuff, for instance. The stuff about football "safety." The stuff about hockey fighting being completely stupid (and the resistance he gets on this is [expletive] hilariously dumb). The stuff about "momentum." I eat up all that stuff because the people who believe otherwise on these issues deserve to be ridiculed and laughed at.

I do hate that he backs off his opinions somewhat when talking with certain guests (like Stone/Rozner/Hub) but most of the time he'll still bring up his disagreement...just won't tell them they're idiots.

Obviously, the Twitter stuff the other night was beyond idiotic and he can be a dick, but for the most part he's the anti-meatball.

One more thing...I don't think they pick and choose stupid callers as many people do...I think sports radio callers are generally that [expletive] stupid by and large and other shows just aren't willing to tell them so.
