I don't know if this was talked about earlier, but the Jesse Rogers article about how Bryant should be the starting 3B on opening day next season is pretty embarrassing. He seems like a nice dude, but man he doesn't seem to know much about baseball yet.

Yeah, David mentioned it in another thread. Rogers is a baseball idiot. No clue about hockey. ABTY says he smells bad too, so he's got that going for him.

Another strong outing from Daury Torrez. Hoping he can start next year in Kane County.

You think they could do the same with Leal? I know he's younger, but he's been even more dominant.

To be honest, I doubt either skip Boise given the number of 2013 college draftees who will be in Kane County next year. Torrez is more likely to get the double promotion because his stuff is better (and yeah, he's older).

I swore I read that a lot of those college draftees will start at Daytona next year (or that was the thought).

I think the ones that made it to Kane County this year(Skulina, Zastryzny) have a shot, but I don't think there's a significant chance of any of the others making that leap. Even setting aside the college part, you can maybe see Maples getting promoted over Kane County, but otherwise you still have:

Pugilese

Underwood

Blackburn

Godley

Masek

Wilson

Frazier

from the current Boise roster pitching well(though some of those guys seem destined to be relievers). Throw in a repeat candidate at KC(Scott?), the odds that not all three of Skulina, Zastryzny, and Maples go to Daytona, and that rotation gets really full, really quickly.

They've pushed their elite batters sort of quickly. But with these arms, even though they were college guys, none of them are elite and if they are pitching in Boise right now, there's no point in skipping levels without complete domination. They went with the quantity strategy, and with that you need patience for one or two to emerge.

Jose Arias will also get a good shot at Kane County's roster given his stuff, age and where he was before he go hurt this April.

Baez K% and BB% for August (13 games) are 20% (29% for the season) and 7% (8% for the season) respectively.
