You know what's really nice? I can't remember the last time the system had a day where the pitching lineup that wasn't interesting.

It's an interesting group of pitching names, but the two most intriguing/highest upside guys (Peralta/Maples) both had their struggles/collapses this year. The guy I'm actually curious with again is Rhee. Part of this due to the dearth of quality upper level pitching in the system, which makes any guy with some stuff look intriguing. But he's had solid back to back starts, with his stuff, from what I gather, carrying into the 5th and 6th. A lot of the stuff, from the little I've followed, seems like it's similar to what he showed last year (topping low 90's on a 2-seamer/sinker, ever so slightly higher on a 4-seamer fastball, the usual solid split/change). I'm curious to find out if that breaking ball has improved enough.

This could easily be a 2-start aberration and guys catch up to him, but the stuff has always been there, so I'm curious ... he's still a guy that could be considered a pen consideration if he falters as a starter, since he's shown he can amp up the fastball in short spurts and has the quality split/change.

Wow I don't think I've ever considered Peralta as one of the top upside/most interesting guys in the system.

Yeah, I can see him having upside, but come on. Pierce, CJ, Paniagua, Underwood, Blackburn, Cabrera, Zastryzny, Skulina, and Vizcaino ALL have higher upsides in my mind.

I'm probably going to the Indy/Louisville game tonight. Is Billy Hamilton still a top prospect? He's only 22 but he's been pretty bad this year.

Everyone needs to just link to Billy Hamilton's Baseball Reference page the next time someone tries to claim that Lindor is a better prospect than Baez. Even with an amazing secondary skill, if you can't Iso more than .100 it's going to catch up to you.

Pretty sure toonster meant the guys with the most upside going today....not overall.

And I agree, Rhee has always been a guy I quietly had hoped for to be a ML arm. I've heard he throws so many different pitches well and seems to have pitchability. But he's had his injuries and issues.

He must not have noticed Edwards, then.

I still can't see Edwards being behind Peralta (or even Maples) as far as intrigue goes.

Yeah I'm assuming he missed him. But that was in response to all the other names brought up.

his iso is over .100 this year, while being one of the youngest players in a pair of pitchers leagues.

the lack of power would concern me more for hamilton than for lindor. i have no idea how hamilton walked so much last year - presumably it was just because of facing subpar pitching - but it doesn't seem like his hit tool is good enough to keep grinding out long at bats and taking walks. lindor's contact skills are a lot better than hamilton's, so i'm pretty confident in lindor's ability to hit for a good average, even if it doesn't come with much power or patience until he develops at least more gap power with maybe 10-15 home runs per year.
