RT @BoiseHawksRadio @KrisBryant_23 with the deepest out you'll ever see. 400 feet at the wall.

This has got to be some sort of record. He could easily have like 6 homers right now.

Matt Loosen promoted to AA. Austin Kirk goes on the Tennessee DL.

Chang-Yong Lim promoted to AAA. Wish he could take Zack Rosscup with him.

Chris Archer beat the Yankees 1-0 with a 2 hit shutout with 6 K's for his 6th win of the season. Good to see one of our former Cubbies have success. If Hak Lee if puts it together, they could make the Garza trade look better from Tampa's viewpoint.

If 2 of Rosscup, Olt, and Edwards pan out, it all evens out. Not that Garza himself wasn't damn good for parts of 3 seasons.

The only thing Lee will be putting together any time soon is his ACL.

This is pretty wishful, but you gotta think that when a guy with Baez's ability with the bat is making a conscious decision to see more pitches, he's going to see more BB and Ks until he gets comfortable at it.

Now, the Almora patience is just flat out fun to see.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that Javy will better acclimate to this level of pitching and his K% will stabilize in the 20's. I realize he's a few games worth of PA over the statistical stabilization threshold for K rate; I guess I'm willing to cut him a little slack as it seems clear he is actively refining his plate approach (age level, etc.).

His stuff is too meh for me to get excited.

I don't know much about his stuff, but he does lead the Southern League in ERA, 2nd in WHIP, and 10th in K's.

On a side note, the recently promoted Albert Cabrera lead the Soutnern League with 107 Ks. In 2nd, with 102; that would be Eric Jokisch. Wouldn't have guessed that.

I don't think his fastball exceeds 89mph often.

Maddux got by on command and sink for a long time. Not saying Hendricks is Maddux, but it can be done.

Yeah. He'll just have to prove it to me at this point I guess.

Can we have one @#%#@$# discussion about a player's obvious flaws without referring to the one HOF player in a century who got by despite that flaw? Every soft-tosser, Maddux. Every small pitcher, Pedro.

Besides the fact that Maddux worked in the low 90s and could touch 94 in his prime.

Yeah, but later on he got by mostly in the high 80s and wasn't performing like a HOFer. I'm pretty sure that's the Maddux he was referring to.

That said, I didn't jump on it because he at least threw the disclaimer in, even though I agree that it is silly to bring up.

for the record, there are a lot of guys out there who have made livings on command and sink, maddux is simply the most obvious one i could think of off the top of my head.
