Whatever site made those ridiculous mock up of HOF busts for Beaz, Soler, Almora, Castro & Rizzo really needs to get to work on a Junior Lake one.

Jesus Christ, Junior.

(And as I type it, I realize I'm not sure if I intend the above as an exclamation or a nickname.)

Yo dawg, you might want to start throwing breaking balls to this dude.

To be fair, he hit a breaking ball about 400 feet for a HR in the 9th yesterday.

And his double in the first was on an offspeed pitch, as well.

WOO NATE!

Lake has sparked the team. Wildcard, here we come.

Some part of me still believes this team can make a run at .500.

All it would take is some good production from the 5th spot in the rotation, IMO.

If Valbuena, Schierholtz, and Soriano are traded then it's probably not going to happen - but if Lake keeps it up, it could easily happen. Guerrier and Strop have made the pen ten times better.

May as well use it to replace the Brett Jackson one.

Yes, if we just happened into a 1.500 OPS CFer, I too think we can go 10 games over .500 the rest of the way.

Lake is [expletive] fun to watch. Watching Olt up here would be awesome to even if he doesn't have things figured out yet. Sorry, but I do not like Barney at all no matter how good his glove is. Just not a fan of the guy at all, He's also batting a robust .220 right now. I know he's not ready, but Alacantra in that spot with Rizzo,Olt, and Starlin...That's a fun infield to watch along with Lake in the OF while the rest of the guys develop and Theo and the boys keep making moves. Seriously doubt that they're going to trade Valbuena.

Nate the great! Thanks for being a Cub for half a season and good luck after you're traded.

It would have to take a overpay to trade him, imo. He still has a year of team control, iirc. We still need to field a team next year and it's not like the minor leaugers will be ready to break through to fill his spot.

I hope you're right. I'm on the Valbuena over Barney bandwagon for sure.
