first 37 G: .243/.275/.459 (.300 babip), 3.1% BB: 28.8% K

last 27 G: .320/.418/.660 (.321 babip), 9.8% BB: 14.8% K

look at those BB:K rates...can we get some one-on-one time with Mariano Duncan and Castro?

I keep trying to prevent myself from thinking something has clicked for Javy and he is just going to destroy his way to the big leagues now. It's too terrifyingly awesome.

doesnt he have like 1 hit in his last 10 games or something?

Don't use those arbitrary end points, use these:

like sneaky said, it's 6 and a grand slam and a bunch of walks and not that many strikeouts, which is more important for him than how lucky he has been on balls in play

i'm not bothering to verify this, as it's only 6 games anyway so who cares

I don't think there's much point in clarifying that the homerun was a grand slam.

If you just look at whole-season stats, all this worrying about whether or not to buy the streaks is heavily alleviated.

The whole is obviously looking better and better every day but the fact that the second half of the season so far has been so drastically different in the peripherals than the first is definitely worth noting.

Pitcher couldn't work around him.

im just saying, if we're looking at all the walks in the last two weeks and speculating if that's the "real javy" it's probably also worth noting that he hasn't been able to draw walks and hit the ball at the same time as a pro

Would you feel better about it if we just throw in the 2 doubles from the all star game? That's probably better pitching than he'd face in a standard game anyway... :-"

Or maybe he's just being pitched around. He'll have to learn the practice of laying off when a pitcher is not trying to throw him anything near the zone.

That's a great point. Also, as TT pointed out his been pretty unlucky/defensed well(?) the last several games.

One of them should have been ruled a HR.
