Apparently some Braves friends of mine on Facebook have an anti-answer to the Killer B's... The Screw U's (Upton, Upton, Uggla).

 

Braves fans are not happy with their siblings. Or Dan Uggla.

Not that it wasn't a bad trade, but man, I had no idea that Upton's season had gotten so farty after an amazing start.

A few days ago I couldn't remember which Upton sucked so much this year so I looked them both up and realized they both have.

MLB Network guys saying they hear a Samardzija to Pitates or Orioles is still possible

 

Pirates and Orioles certainly have what it takes, though I suspect that they're not so much shopping him as waiting for some ridiculous desperation based offers to roll in.

Because he's 27 and was good 4 of 6 seasons prior to this year?

Yeah his previous 5 years he put up fWAR's of 3.1, 3.8, 3.8, 2.1, 4.8 and we had a clear opening(s) in the OF.

It's weird, though. Because when you watched him play, he always seemed to not be very good and yet I'd come on here and see things like this. You're obviously right, but yet it seems so wrong.

Apropos of nothing: the deadline being at 3 PM is stupid. They need to move it back to midnight.

I'd be stunned if the Orioles decided to part with what's needed to land Samardzija. I'm not sure they really have enough unless they really opened the bank, and there's no way I see them moving Bundy (even with TJ, you'd gamble on that arm almost any day) and Gausman, along with maybe Rodriguez. I can't see something like Gausman/Rodriguez/+ being enough, unless the Cubs are far higher on Schoop than I am.

 

I'm mildly curious what the Cubs turned down to have the rumors pointing to Schierholtz staying at the last second. Then again, we didn't need to haphazardly move him (or Russell) so if the offers were that bad, okay.

 

Still hoping Gregg gets moved, though.
