Between Hendricks and Maples, this is about as exciting as a non-Pierce day can get in the Cubs minors.

If only Dustin Geiger had some sort of defensive value. Two doubles and a triple today.

21 consecutive scoreless innings for Yeiper Castillo. Might be time to bump him up to AA.

Is he anything? I've tried searching for scouting reports a few times and haven't found anything, so I took that as a bad sign.

How long until they think about bumping Jorge?

My guess is mid/late June. They gave Javy 57 games in Peoria, and Soler will have played in a similar amount by that time, assuming he stays healthy. The Peoria version of Javy had the better triple slash than Soler now, but Jorge has the much better peripherals. The FSL All Star game is in mid June as well.

Given his age, I don't believe so. I know he has a pretty good cutter but know nothing else about him.

Looks like he lost a year somewhere down the line. TJS maybe?

four doubles and a triple in five at bats does wonders for your slash lines in May.

Ground ball down the line 2b, Soler 6-for-6

Knocking in Baez who...walked.

Villanueva is still perfect for the game at 3-3 with two doubles.

3 errors for Baez tonight, 17 on the season.

He's 1/2 with a BB in game 2 so far, i'll take it regardless of the D.

I love what Dillion Maples did tonight though. I believe Byron Buxton went 0-3 against him with a strikeout.

i don't think there's many other prospects who've seen their stock drop quite as much as Baez's has this season

Have you checked out Mike Olt's statline this year? lol.

But it's still realllly early. It keeps being said, but it's the truth. At this point in the game, if Baez were to go on a 6/6 stretch like Soler, he'd be hitting in the mid .270's and showing good power in a league hes young for. And you know hes got a few streaks in him at some point.
