Yeah, if he called him out, I didn't see a drop, so that ball should have been thrown at 3rd base to double him off.

Yep...it was a clown show, umps and players. The only thought I had is that maybe the ump was giving some kind of weird "fair" signal instead of calling an out, but I dunno.
