I would have zero problem with a Cubs team that consistently kicked ass that also got regularly bounced from the playoffs.

We're busy discussing whether the best team, hottest team, or whatever wins in the playoffs, while the Cubs look to be miles away from having a chance at even an expanded playoff situation.

Man, thank God you're here to give us the cold slap of reality.

I was fooled by all of this talk of best and hot teams.

I'd prefer it to being shitty, but I wouldn't say I'd have zero problem with yearly agony.

I'd prefer it to being [expletive], but I wouldn't say I'd have zero problem with yearly agony.

It take several years of that for me to start getting bothered by it.

Yeah. Just to clarify, the way I phrased that definitely understated how much I'd prefer it to being shitty. It'd be all kinds of awesome. Awesome enough that I could deal with having a [expletive] taken on me at the end of the year...but I would definitely be bothered by it.

what we have now is yearly agony. years like 2008 were months and months of glory followed by a month of agony. let's do that again.

give me a series title, a few series appearances, and the rest first round exits and i'm fine.

actually, scratch that, one series appearance and the rest first round exits.

it's funny that this conversation just happened with CubinNY because I just stumbled onto this one when I was looking for the Laura Prepon/Mila Kunis stuff.

I never bought them as a realistic choice, anyway, considering they already have a young star at third base in Aramis Ramirez

sigh...those were the days

I think a 4 game sweep to the White Sox would be enough to turn even the meatballs against Ricketts. :beg:

And then stuff'll change!

The fans are already turning. I want to see some players blow up.

With my increasing belief that we'll see no top prospects called up this season(Maybe Alcantara?), I guess Samardzija's first comments after being traded is what I'm most looking forward to this season?

Posted
why would any players blow up, most wouldn't be on big league rosters if not for ptr.

I frequently wonder if that isn't by design this year.

Our best option is probably Samardzija, but he seems determined to be classy.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I'd say maybe something a little passive-aggressive, but that's about it.

Maybe Garza will just have hour long press conferences every time Milwaukee visits Chicago.

I don't see that determination, personally.
