Contreras is off to a nice start offensively, walks and power both looking nice, although of course Kane plays so rarely that it's way premature.

But he's only caught a handful of games, already has 3 passed balls, and without actually paying good attention it seems like base-stealers are like 14-for-15 when he's been catching. I'd love to get some feedback from people who have been or will go to Kane games about how he looks defensively.

It's not uncommon for them to outright cancel a lot of minor league games, right? It would be pretty fun to do a double header on a make up from one of these rainouts. Hopefully I'll get that opportunity.

There's probably another thread about it, but since I check here first, fascinating pickup of Borbon. I wonder what the alignment is in, presumably, Iowa. A lot of OF's fighting for PT there.

Borbon has to go on the 25 man. Gonzalez was DFAd

I know, I was skipping ahead in my thinking in that at some point, they've got to stop carrying 6 OF's though. Guess a trade could happen to keep Borbon around, or Sappelt gets sent down. Personally, I actually prefer Sappelt to Borbon, and I'm not big on Sappelt in any way.

when everyone is grumbling about daytona's rainouts later this year, i'm going to remind them that kane county played like 6 games in april.

Admittedly, the MWL already has more weather postponements this season than they did all of last season.

What really sucks is there will be guys, probably Vogelbach, Johnson, maybe Candelario-that wind up missing on both ends after they've been promoted later in the season.

Loosen finishes with 4 IP, 4 H, 8/2 K/BB, very nice.

Stewart now has 10 PA at Iowa and has 2 balls in play. 5 Ks and 3 BB

Alcantara has rebounded offensively, he's up to .288, plus with all the walks and steals. I'd wondered if he'd be overmatched in AA, and questioned if he should even be promoted, and when he'd gone down to .220 or whatever I'd been worried. But he's been hot lately.

However, he made his 7th error already. Last year I thought hie error rate was scary, but nobody else seemed to mind. Now he's 7 errors in 14 (or 15?) games. Sooner or later he's got to cut back on the errors. A lot.

Loux's last outing was good too, it was only that first one that was bad.

Luckily we don't need him to be a SS.

Do Loosen and Jokisch profile as anything more than depth? How do they compare with depth guys like Coleman, Raley, and Rusin when they were at the same levels?

Loosen is better then those other guys.
