Cubs announce pitchers and catchers report Feb 19th. Position players on the 24th.

As of today (I'll round up to Tuesday), only 89 days until Cubs-Cards season opener.

That's too far away. Gotta look forward to Spring Training first.

I never look forward to Spring Training.

I really don't get you. For most of our lifetime that is the best time to be a Cubs fan. There is something so optimistic about the spring training, the coming of better weather, seeing the green of the diamond, seeing the young kids who you pin hope for the future on, just everything about it is great.

I mean you love college football and all it is is a six month exhibition season followed by a beauty contest.

If Spring Training was, say, 2 weeks long, it would be great. But it's endless and boring and by the first week of March, it's a slow, painful march towards Opening Day.

I normally feel the same way about Spring. It has been more fun and should be more fun with the possibility of getting some looks at Russell, Schwarber and Bryant.

I mean it is too long, but I'd still rather have it starts when it starts than have it start later. And you can't really start the regular season any earlier, either.

Most of it is boring and terrible but it's nice to be able to watch sunny baseball on a miserable February day, even if it's meaningless terrible baseball that I'll stop paying attention to after an hour.

Spring Training is like spring itself. The first sign of warming weather, the first 60 degree and sunny Saturday, is amazing. But as spring goes along you still get stuck with crappy weather dampening the spirits. I absolutely look forward to spring training, as well as opening day. But baseball really isn't at its best until at least June, when you can attend games without coats.

I mean

Do people really believe there is an actual curse? If so, those people lack sanity, cannot be reasoned with, and are not worth talking to.

Did you read the article? He's not debunking anything, he just says that cubs fans need to stop freaking out immediately when the cubs are back in the playoffs.

The only place I actually see this stuff (Curses and Bartman) talked about is fans of other teams saying Cubs fans are idiots for believing it (or otherwise using it to mock).
