REALLY liking Schierholtz.

Definitely!! Why not just let him play everyday the next 10 games or so? Get tired of the platoon thing, especially when one guy is on fire, and the other side of the platoon is doing squat.

There's a really good chance that one guy in the platoon is "on fire" largely because of the platoon. Continue to play to his strengths.

Yeah, I get that, but throw him out there against some lefties and see how he does. Maybe find out he never got enough of a chance to prove he can play everyday. They have nothing to lose, and maybe a lot to gain by trying it.....

you have production to lose, and you probably will. he's had more than enough career PA against LHP to know he sucks against them. why try to force something that is proven to be a bad idea?

i'm really liking the idea of Lincecum at bargain basement prices this winter

Any particular reason why? He's lost 4 mph from his fastball from his Cy Young years, I have to think he's near cooked.

Lincecum the late inning reliever is an interesting idea to me though.

just more the idea of him regaining form from his 4 win years; he's still getting Ks and even had pretty decent periphs last year

WTF? Why did mlb.tv suddenly decide to blackout the game in the 3rd inning? Edited by Elwood

Not to belabor the point, but his velocity has dropped 4 MPH in the last two seasons. Plus he's got those command issues, which seem based out of him having to maintain the timing of his funky mechanics. It seems like he's stronger in short bursts now than over starts.

Wasn't even a strike, didn't make good contact, ball hung in the air, very frustrating.
